NBEAC conducted an online training session titled “Peer Review Readiness: Best Practices and Preparation Strategies” on Monday, August 10, 2026, via Zoom, as part of its ongoing efforts to strengthen quality assurance, accreditation readiness, and excellence in business education. The training was attended by 60 participants from business schools and higher education institutions, including Deans and Directors, Heads of Departments, Program Coordinators, business school faculty, accreditation coordinators, Quality Assurance personnel, and faculty members involved in NBEAC accreditation. The training focused on the significance of peer review visits in the accreditation and evaluation of business schools, where peer reviewers comprehensively assess the quality and effectiveness of academic programs, faculty, research outputs, and administrative processes. Participants were guided on the importance of effective preparation to showcase institutional strengths, address potential areas of improvement, and fulfill the requirements for accreditation or re-accreditation.
The session covered key areas including understanding evaluation criteria, preparing and organizing institutional documentation and evidence, arranging and managing peer review visits, engaging effectively with peer reviewers, responding to feedback, and ensuring that campus facilities and resources are appropriately presented.
The training also emphasized the importance of objective, evidence-based, ethical, and constructive peer review practices in promoting institutional quality and continuous improvement. Participants were provided guidance on NBEAC accreditation standards, evidence requirements, stakeholder engagement, and preparation of comprehensive and balanced evaluation reports.
The session was delivered by Dr. Zaki Rashidi, Professor, IQRA University, Karachi, and Dr. Abdul Raziq, Professor, BUITEMS, Quetta, who served as resource persons and shared their expertise and practical insights on peer review visits, accreditation preparedness, documentation, institutional readiness, and effective engagement with peer reviewers. By the end of the training, participants were expected to develop a comprehensive understanding of the peer review visit process, gain insights into peer reviewers’ expectations, effectively organize necessary documentation and evidence, manage peer review visits, respond to reviewers’ feedback, and ensure appropriate presentation of campus facilities and institutional resources.
The training also highlighted the HEC directive requiring all Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) to obtain NBEAC accreditation by Fall 2027, with non-compliance potentially leading to regulatory action, including stoppage of admissions. The session therefore underscored the importance of proactive institutional preparation and timely engagement with the accreditation process. Through its Training and Development Wing, NBEAC continues to provide capacity-building opportunities for higher education institutions and professionals, contributing towards a stronger culture of quality assurance, accreditation readiness, continuous improvement, and excellence in business education across Pakistan.
