Press Release: Peer Review visit of Shah Abdul Latif University, Khairpur.

Accreditation is market-driven and has an international focus. It assesses the characteristics of an Institution and its programmes against a set of criteria. It signifies that the Institutional performance is based on assessment carried out through an independent competent body of quality assessors, with strengths and weaknesses emanating as a feedback for policy-making.

In connection to this, a Peer Review re-visit for accreditation was held from 14th-16th of April 2015 at Shah Abdul Latif University, Khairpur.  The team was given a very warm welcome by the University followed by brief discussions on distinctive features of accreditation. A scheduled series of events took place on three consecutive days. The very first included welcome meeting with the Dean of the Business school, meeting with the Rector/Vice Chancellor, briefing presentation on Business School’s current situation and future vision, tour of the Business School and there were four detailed sessions which included various discussions. The second day included six intricate sessions including more discussions and reviews. The third and the last day the AIC Team prepared the reports and the Chairman AIC provided feedback to the Business School. AIC Members, Rector/VC, Dean, HoD, Registrar, Director Academic, Director Exams, Director Finance, Head QEC and Focal Person were present during these activities and sessions. The three day exhaustive session concluded with the HOD and Focal person of the Business School departing the AIC team.

The main objectives of the visit were to review the compliance report (a) Self-Assessment Report (SAR) verification in light of the supporting documents (b) Infrastructure analysis and (c) Interviews with the faculty, students, administrative staff and Alumni.

During this peer review visit Dr Zaki Rashidi, Associate Professor SZABIST KHI, lead the team including Dr Irfan Haider, Dean IoBM KHI, Ms Musarrat Karamat, Chairperson BUITEMS, Quetta, Mr Rashid Sethar, GM, PEPSI Co, Sukkur, and Mr Ahtesham Ali Raja, Program Director NBEAC.

 Verbal feedback was provided at the end of the visit to the university. A detailed report along with the re-accreditation decision will be communicated to the university after the 14th Council Meeting in June 2015.
