Press Release SUIT Peer Review Visit (10-11 Mar 2015)

When selecting a college or university and before investing on any educational institution, it is important to determine whether or not the institution is accredited.  This is especially very important in the higher education sector. With an accredited institution, a student has some assurance of receiving a quality education and gaining recognition by other colleges and by employers of the course credits and degrees earned.  Accreditation is an affirmation that a Business School provides a quality of education that the general public has the right to expect and that the educational community recognizes. Moreover, the initiative to accredit degree program(s) has been taken up by the Higher Education Commission (HEC) thereby establishing councils for various disciplines. The council developed for accreditation of Business Studies is National Business Education Accreditation Council (NBEAC).

In connection to this, Peer Review re-visit for accreditation was held on 10th-11th of March 2015 at Sarhad University of Science and Information Technology, Peshawar which has been registered as the twenty seventh (27th) institution for accreditation of BBA & MBA programs. The team was headed by Dr. Farooq e Azam Cheema, Head of Department (Management Sciences), Bahria University, KHI.   The other team members include; Dr. Ghulam Shabbir Khan Niazi, Dean (Management Sciences), National Defence University, Islamabad and Mr. Ahtesham Ali Raja, Program Director (Nbeac), Islamabad.

The main objectives of the visit were to review the compliance report (a) Self-Assessment Report (SAR) verification in light of the supporting documents (b) Infrastructure analysis and (c) Interviews with the faculty, students, administrative staff and Alumni.

Verbal feedback was provided at the end of the visit to Dr Salim ur Rehman, Vice Chancellor. A detailed report along with the re-accreditation decision will be communicated to the university after the 14th Council Meeting.
